GENERAL INFORMATION
The 2010 CCNMA Journalism Opportunities Conference is co-sponsored by the Los Angeles Chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA), the Black Journalists Assn. of Southern California (BJASC) and the USC Annenberg School of Journalism.  The conference and job fair is open to all students and professionals, regardless of race or ethnicity. The Job Fair is a 2-day event. The Davidson Conference Center is located at 3415 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles 90089 (at W. Jefferson Boulevard).

Students eligible to participate in the job fair must be college sophomores, juniors, seniors or graduate students.  Professionals may have any length of experience. Job interviews will be walk-ups only, although some recruiters may schedule their own appointments.  Not all recruiters will be at the job fair both days. Friday is usually the busier day.
OPERATING HOURS of the Job Fair will be:
THURSDAY:  10 a.m. - 5 p.m.; closed noon - 2 p.m. for lunch
FRIDAY:  10 a.m. - 5 p.m.; closed noon - 2 p.m. for lunch

REGISTRATION
Registration opens at 9 a.m. on Thursday and Friday.


SCHEDULE
Workshops will be held on both Thursday and Friday. A schedule of workshops wil be posted as workshops are confirmed.


MEALS
Coffee and tea will be provided each morning. Registration includes one ticket each for the Friday luncheon. No meals will be provided on other days.

PARKING

Parking is available at the USC Parking Structure D for $8 a day. Enter Gate 4 at Royal St. and W. Jefferson Blvd. There may be metered parking available for 4 hours on Jefferson Boulevard or Figueroa Street.

FEES
Members in good standing of CCNMA, NAHJ, NAJA, NLGJA, AAJA or BJASC receive a discount on pre-registration fees.  However, registration fees after the pre-registration deadline and on-site registration are the same, regardless of group membership.

Registration received prior to Sept. 13, 2010 is:

*For members of CCNMA, AAJA, or BJASC.  Please include proof of membership with your payment.

Registration received after Sept. 13, 2010, including on-site registration, regardless of group membership, will be:

PROFESSIONALS $100

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY
Registration cancellations made prior to the Sept. 13, 2010 pre-registration deadline are eligible for a refund minus a $25 cancellation fee. Registration cancellations made after that date are nonrefundable.

  • Please type or print clearly.
  • Include a copy of your current resume with your registration forms.
  • Please bring additional resumes for your personal distribution at the job fair.
  • Send check or money order made payable to CCNMA.

    Hotel rooms at the Radisson at USC Hotel are at the special rate of $139 a night single or double. (Rates subject to 14.05% City of Los Angeles room tax.) Reservation deadline is September 13, 2010.
