JOB SUMMARY:
KGPE-TV, Central California’s CBS affiliate is looking for a skilled Reporter who understands exceptional storytelling techniques. The successful candidate will handle day-to-day general assignment reporting. Some shooting and editing may be required. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: · Operating as a general assignment reporter who delivers enterprise stories in an engaging, conversational style · Daily live reports either in the field or in the studio · Participating in the news gathering and story development process by working closely with producers, assignment editors and anchors to produce high quality stories · Working with management and the news team to achieve the highest possible production and content standards for the newscast · Daily enterprising of stories · Maintaining a high degree of knowledge of current events and community issues · Generating daily enterprise stories that reflect perspective, context, and a broad knowledge of local issues · Developing and maintaining good relationships with news sources · Making personal appearances in community as assigned by station management.
