Rachel Uranga covers transportation and mobility for the Los Angeles Times. She previously reported for the Los Angeles Business Journal, Reuters in Mexico City and Southern California News Group, where she later served on its editorial board.

Vice President

Robert Lopez is the 2024-2036 CCNMA Latino Journalists of California Board Vice President

Robert Lopez is an independent journalist and former university senior administrator with extensive experience operating in high-pressure environments. Part of a team of Los Angeles Times reporters awarded the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for public service and Pulitzer Prize finalist in 2023 with several Times colleagues for local and regional investigations.

Kassandra Gutierrez is the 2024-2026 CCNMA Latino Journalists of California Secretary

Kassandra Gutierrez is a reporter at ABC30 Action News in Fresno, CA.

At-Large

Laurie Ochoa is the 2024-2036 CCNMA Latino Journalists of California Board At-Large

Laurie Ochoa is general manager of Food at the Los Angeles Times. Previously, she was a deputy editor in Entertainment and Arts.

At-Large

Nancy Rivera Brooks was deputy Business editor at the LA Times. She was part of the team that produced the 1983 Pulitzer Prize-winning series on Latinos in Southern California. She received the 2023 Lawrence Minard Editor Award from the Gerald Loeb Awards and retired from The Times in 2024.
